Reconciliation Victoria invites representatives from South West Victorian Regional Local Governments to attend our next Maggolee workshop being held in Geelong on Friday 16 August 2019 between 10am – 3pm.
The workshop is a cost free event and aims to bring together Local Government representatives to raise awareness of Maggolee’s purpose and strengthen connections between staff working on Aboriginal community projects, commitments and Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs).
All Council workers are invited to participate and we extend this invitation to Traditional owner representatives and Aboriginal network members supporting RAP developments in Local Councils.
Council divisions that often attend and benefit from Maggolee workshops include:
- People & Culture
- Community & Social Planning
- Aboriginal Liaison Officers
- Planning staff (Heritage/Environmental)
- Early Childhood
- Maternal Health
- Youth Teams
- Economic Development
- Councillors, Team Managers
- Aged care
- Library staff
- Community Health Services
Maggolee is funded under the Victorian Aboriginal and Local Government Action Plan and is a key online resource to support Local Governments to share best practice and strengthen Aboriginal engagement and reconciliation strategies.
Maggolee workshops present a great opportunity for Council staff, accountable for working on RAP actions, to learn how Maggolee resources can support their activities and fill knowledge gaps. Managers, CEOs and Team Leaders are also strongly encouraged to attend.
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org before Monday 12 August and feel free to call Nicole on 0407 220 201 if you would like further information about the workshop.
You might like to also come along to Reconcilation Victoria’s forum and tour on Wadawurrung Country…
The Geelong Maggolee workshop will coincide with Reconciliation Victoria’s Statewide regional forum taking place in Torquay between 17-18 August.
